We just got back from a long weekend in South Florida to celebrate my first nephew’s wedding to a beautiful and spunky young lady and I couldn’t be happier for them both!

Mr. C and Mrs. L (as I will call them for this post) seem ecstatically happy in every picture I’ve seen of them. This is the face I see when I look at my 40 year old nephew!!

He was the one that exposed a young girl (me!) to what true, unconditional love feels like. I would have done anything for him! I dreaded leaving him, loved holding him, and would give him anything he wanted if he asked!!

My oldest brother married and had two sons. Having them in our family made every family gathering more fun!! They were spoiled rotten by aunts and uncles and grandparents on both sides of the family.

Look at that smile!!! Wouldn’t you give him anything he wanted??!!

As the rest of the family added to the family, seeing our first nephew being the older, responsible cousin was a whole other blessing to watch. He reminded me of his dad, my brother, when he had to step up and be the man of our family after our father passed away. Like his dad, he would do anything for anybody!

As these boys grew up, they began playing baseball with their dad being their coach, supporter and biggest fan.

When my little family moved from S. Florida to NC, my brother’s sweet family would come visit and I got to catch up after not seeing them for way too long!! I missed them so much!

My first nephew and my big brother. Two of my favorite people in the whole world!!

Mr. C faced tragedy when he was just 13 years old when his father unexpectedly passed away. Now he really was the man of the house and he did a great job. He also picked up the saxophone and has never put it down. He graduated from college with a music degree.

His grandmother (alias Nana) was one of his biggest fans as well. She adored all her grandchildren but the first is always a little special.

Living so far away from him and only seeing him once or twice a year, I missed so much of his life. I loved every minute I could spend with him. I also enjoyed watching my kids interacting with him. He was a great role model for my young boys.

Every visit to S. Florida included a meal at Denny’s Restaurant. This picture is from 2003-4.
After college, Mr. C opened up his own music school where he teaches his students how to play all kinds of instruments and how to perform in a band. It’s amazing to watch him with his students. He’s very patient and his love of music comes out. And this is where he met his beautiful bride Mrs. L.

It was a beautiful wedding, a beautiful bride, and a beautiful couple. I’m excited to watch their family grow in love (and hopefully in numbers, too!!).

Love y’all,
Linda
