A NICE VISIT WITH FAMILY ~ and a beautiful model

As I’m reading the title of this post, I realized it could be misconstrued that I have a picture of a beautiful model (the tall girl who walks the runway in beautiful clothing). NOPE! It’s a model home!

My sister and her family came to visit from South Florida (and one niece from NYC). We did a lot of fun things including a movie, a wine tasting, and a model house tour.

My whole family has always loved walking through model homes. I remember walking through model homes with my mom and dad when I was a young girl. I love walking through them. And my sister loves walking through them.

While my sister was here, I wanted to find a beautiful neighborhood with a model so I googled “Model homes near me.”

I found a subdivision called “Lexington” where the picture of the model looked beautiful. The neighborhood is about twenty minutes west of the Cary/Apex area in N.C.

The subdivision has 2 acre lots and there will only be twelve homes built on two streets in this subdivision.

The builder, Arthur Rutenberg Homes is from Florida, but the packet we got said they are building in N. Carolina, S. Carolina, Georgia, Ohio, and Tennessee.

The outside of the model has painted brick and looks like what my sister says is European design.

There will only be 12 houses on two streets in this subdivision and they all have three car garages.

As we entered the model, I noticed the stunning wood doors.

The tile and wood foyer floor was beautiful!

The spiral wooden staircase caught my attention right away. I think I audibly sighed!

To the right of the foyer is an elegant dining room which I didn’t get a picture of. To the left of the foyer was a living room/office/music room with french doors for privacy. It was decorated with a wall of clocks and I guess I was so excited that when I took the picture I wasn’t holding the phone camera still. SORRY!

As you walk through the foyer, you can see the very cozy family room straight ahead but before you get there you’re greeted by a butler’s pantry with a sink and check out the tile wall with open shelving. The wet bar has a circular granite counter top with adorable metal stools tucked under.

On the first floor were two master bedrooms. Each had a wall of windows with a beautiful view outside.

There were neutral colors throughout the decor of the house with a touch of teal in each room.

Check out the ceiling molding.

Each of the bedrooms had its own bathroom.

We walked through the master bath into the huge master closet.

The other master bath was smaller but just as beautiful.

The herringbone tile floors were beautiful!

Every inch of this house was absolutely stunning.

Next was the kitchen. The cream colored cabinets, gold pulls, granite countertops, and stainless steel appliances made an elegant presentation.

The huge island was 5′ x 11′. I love the brick back splash.

My sister accidentally found the hidden pantry which was a nice size.

There was also hidden storage under the island where the bar stools were.

On the other side of the kitchen, we found the most amazing laundry room EVER! Check this out!

The other half of the room is storage and the washer and dryer. Sorry I didn’t get a picture of that.

The family room had beautiful dark stained beams on the ceiling and dark wood floors that run through out most of the house. It also had an understated fireplace with a small mantel and a large screen television above.

There was a whole wall of windows leading out to the outdoor living space. The on-site realtor opened the far right door and the rest of the windows folded all the way to the left for a very open fresh air feeling. It was very cool!

Beautiful brick pavers, an outdoor carpet, wicker furniture, a large stone fireplace with a large screen television above it made this space so cozy.

The realtor showed us a cool aspect of the space when he hit a remote button and screens came down to transform this outdoor space into a screened porch. Very cool!

Notice the wood ceiling. Every detail was thought out and added to make this house so special. I walked through and kept repeating “WOW!”

Also notice the the sitting area and firepit outside. Beautiful stone work.

There was also a half bathroom on the first floor as well.

Then we headed upstairs…

Right at the top you’re greeted by beautiful wood floors and two steps leading up to a very large bonus room which can be closed off with pocket doors.

Check out the wood plank walls. There’s two of them!

My beautiful sister is showing off the huge sectional that fit perfectly in this room. I also love the wood table.

There’s also a wet bar and refrigerator in the corner of the room. You would never have to leave this room!

Upstairs, there’s two more bedrooms with their own bathrooms.

The Girl’s Room

….and the bathroom.

The Boy’s Bedroom….

…and the bathroom.

Love the tile floors!

There was also about 500 square feet of unfinished storage space at the end of the hallway.

So all totaled, there were 4 bedrooms, 4 1/2 bathrooms and just over 4000 square feet of living space.

My sister and I fell in love with the house!! Then we heard the price tag. The on-site realtor told us that this particular house all furnished was sold for just over one million big ones!!! OUCH!!

But it was fun to dream!

Hope you enjoyed touring this beautiful model home with us.

Next up, our wine tasting adventure.

Have a great day!

Love y’all,

Linda
