CHRISTMAS GIFTS 2012

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving where we reflect on all the things we have been blessed with.
Every Thanksgiving, the LOML’s family comes to NC to celebrate.
We celebrate Christmas and exchange gifts while everyone is together.
This year, I put a little crafty thought into some of the gifts. My girls helped me.
My SIL loves her pets. She has a dog and a cat. She also loves Winnie the Pooh. She has a whole room dedicated to the chubby yellow guy.
I found this great saying by Winnie ~
“Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart.”
So I put both loves together and got this:#1 We (“we” being me and Daughters #1 & #2) bought a large oval plaque and two small heart plaques from AC Moore and spray painted with primer.

#2 We painted the small hearts with black acrylic paint and decoupaged a picture of each of my SIL’s furry loves on each heart.

#3 Onto the oval plaque, I placed letter stickers from my scrapbooking days to copy the Winnie the Pooh saying. I then painted the plaque black.

#4 After the paint dried, I peeled the letters off and

TADA

#5 I then spray painted two cup hooks black and screwed them into the bottom of the plaque. Then we stapled pretty heart ribbon on the back of the hearts to hang on the hooks. Now, don’t get mad but DUMMY ME forgot to get a picture of the finished product before I wrapped it and gave it to my sweet SIL!! I AM SO FIRED!!!

{THIS IS WHERE THE PICTURE OF THE FINISHED PLAQUE WOULD GO…..USE YOUR IMAGINATIONS, K?}

A gift for each of the three families We bought three six window frames ~ one frame for each couple (aunt and uncle, aunt and uncle and grandmother and grandfather)  (each window was for a picture of each of our children {we have six} with each couple),

letters to spell out “WE

and red and silver acrylic paint and sponge brushes.

My girls and I painted the hearts red and the letters silver.

All the kids looked through our pictures (new and old) to find their favorite picture with each couple. This was my favorite part!!

We used  Strong Stik Instant Grab Adhesive to glue “WE” on the top black portion of the frame, the heart in the middle black portion of the frame and the “YOU” on the bottom black portion of the frame.
AGAIN, I forgot to take a picture of the finished product…FIRED AGAIN! I’m going to try to diagram what we did below.

You’ll have to just imagine cute little black and white photos of my adorable kids with their aunts, uncles, and grandparents because I am a …

DODO!

I think all my in-laws loved the frames. And my kids loved putting in the effort and thought to make it special.

From my crazy family to yours, we hope you have many things to be thankful for this holiday season!!

Love y’all,
Linda
