HANGING PHOTOS ~ displaying memories

If you don’t already know…
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE PICTURES!!!
I love creating photo albums, photo books, photo galleries. I love black & white, colored, framed, canvased,
I LOVE ALL PICTURES!
So, today I wanted to share some of my photo galleries that I have around my house. I use the word “gallery” very loosely because that word makes me think of an art museum. My “galleries” are pictures of my family hung up with whatever I can find around the house. I probably don’t use the right nails or brackets on the frames and I DEFINITELY don’t use a level or a ruler to hang them perfectly straight.
I EYE IT!
On to the photo galleries!

MASTER BEDROOM

You can see how I got the courage to cut up my wedding portrait here.

GIRLS ROOM

I used the branches as the shelves to hold some of the girls’ favorite black and white pictures. You can see the post about the tree mural here.

THE BONUS ROOM

I bought the three-picture frames at Target and put a favorite toddler picture of each of the kids. I bought the vinyl quote from Royal Design Studio with a 10% coupon (I love a deal!). It was very easy to stick it to the mirror. The quote is from a favorite children’s book that I have read to each of my kids and I’ve never made it through without getting all choked up!

Every school year I order an 8×10 of each of the kids and insert it in their frame. My favorite part is looking at all the pictures behind the current picture. They are all there from preschool to the present. They grow up so fast!!

FOYER
We just finished the foyer photo gallery.

I bought black frames of all different sizes, a black curtain rod, and printed out some of my favorite pictures of the fam in black and white. I always have fun looking through our pictures. I get to reminisce! I loved the square finials that came with the curtain rod. I thought it added a lot of character to the rod. BUT…when we hung it on the wall with these babies

the pictures looked like they were hanging in mid-air. They weren’t laying against the wall but floating above my head like little angels. Well, it was late so we left them up and we planned on buying new brackets to hold the curtain rod that would be flush against the wall the next day.

The next day….we took the rod down and visited our nearest Lowes to find a different bracket. We found small black coat hooks that worked perfectly!!

Next boo-boo…because the rod lay against the wall, the square finials that came with the rod didn’t fit anymore. AAAHHHHHHH! I went in search of flat finials. Bed, Bath & Beyond had just the thing. Here they are…

Aren’t they PURTY??!!

Next, I wanted a vinyl quote in the middle of the pictures so I went in search. I found a beautiful one at Just the Frosting Vinyl Decor. It was personalized and had a great bible verse that I thought fit our family perfectly.

Didn’t Just the Frosting Vinyl Decor do a great job? I absolutely love it!

Putting it on the wall was pretty easy. A credit card and a little patience (I tried to pull the backing off a little too fast a couple of times) and VOILA!

I bought some pretty ribbon from AC Moore to tie the pictures to the curtain rod…

and the LOML was up on the ladder (while I was praying! I hate heights!!) doing a great job hanging our family masterpiece.

I love how it turned out. A couple of little glitches but I always say “glitches build character!” I’ve never said that but I think I’ll start!

What do y’all think? Let me know and if you haven’t already please think about following me. Thanks so much for coming by.
