MORE OF THE PEACOCK ROOM ~ and a little mom reminiscing

Today I finished painting Daughter #2’s teal peacock room. While I was painting the walls, I decided to paint the trim, too. Doesn’t it look simply marvelous??!!
THE REASON I DECIDED TO PAINT THE TRIM….

I could see every color the walls had ever been in the 11 years we have lived in this house.
It was a green and orange dinosaur room for a couple of toddlers.
It was a light blue/navy blue UNC room for a high schooler.
Here’s where a mom reminisces about all the years that have flown by. It seemed like yesterday when a couple of toddler boys begged for a dinosaur mural on their wall as they were saying good night and being tucked into their This End Up bunkbeds.
Now both boys are playing football and liking girls and shaving.
WOW! Where does the time go??

Today, I’m decorating this same room for a beautiful eight year old girl who just yesterday was meeting her new mom and dad (us) in a country half way around the world.
I painted the trim so now the room looks so bright and clean and
FINISHED!!
I also finished painting the vanity that will be in her closet with Valspar’s Cool Rain in an eggshell finish. Daughter #2 is looking through pictures so we can print them in black and white and  put them in the frames around the mirror.
The piece of furniture has so much character. And Daughter #2 loves it!!
Tomorrow, I’m painting Daughter #1’s new dresser fuschia (yes, I said fuschia!) to match her room so I can then take the dresser in there to put into the peacock room. Can you follow?? No worries. I’ll show pictures as I finish. I’m such a visual person.
