DIY Bedroom Project Reading Nook

THE READING NOOK ~ The final reveal!!

I’m so excited to show y’all our new cozy reading nook in our master bedroom!

But before I do, a little recap of how we got here.

We had a small alcove in our bedroom that housed the LOMLs computer desk.

I’ve wanted to revamp our master bedroom for awhile and when I saw this picture

My Sweet Savannah

it was a perfect way to fill the alcove and make it a charming and cozy space.

So the first step in getting this beautiful nook was to build the bench.

We had an electrician install these great lights from Lowe’s Home Improvement.

Then we built  the side bases and bookcases.

The third step was hanging the wood plank wall.

The final step was the decorating!! It’s always my favorite part.

Daughter #2’s bed is a small single trundle bed so I had the brilliant idea of using her mattress as the cushion for the bench. She’s going to inherit Daughter #1’s extra twin bed.

I ordered these sheets to cover the mattress/cushion from Amazon for $25.00.

I decorated the bookshelves with wedding memorabilia and candles and a plant from IKEA.

I also ordered a whimsical family portrait from www.blissfulpapeterieshop.com to hang in between the lights. I’ll show y’all when I receive it and hang it up in this space.

I’m so excited that this sweet little space is finished. We love it!!!

And without further ado……

What do y’all think? Do you want to just grab a book and a cup of tea and enjoy this space? I sure do!!
